'badpuppy'- penciled character design

ok, this is a pencilling of a character that’s been bumping around my head for over three years now called ‘badpuppy’, and I hope to one day to get this guy published in his own title, he has gone through several redesigns as I mature and rethink him, and this is my latest, I was going for a hybrid of modern solder and ancient ninja, combining elements of both to create a rather unique look. After some decision I decided that I would not include guns, instead sticking with combat weapons only. This was mainly due to my personal view that combat scenes are much better if kept close quarters. I added the flailing bands around the arms to give the character a sense of motion and fluidity when moving, which I think works well with such a stoic pose, next up I will ink him then try and to a base colour scheam.
